April 1 2014 – Florida Governor Rick Scott signed law which expands the original legislation to allow therapy dogs in the courtroom on cases involving victims who were under 16 at the time the crime occurred, despite their age at the trial date, and also anyone who is intellectually disabled or whom the judge determines is a vulnerable witness. 2014 Law (PDF)  Original 2011 Law (PDF)

February 2013Lauren’s Kids shares a key mission with the Florida Courthouse Therapy Dogs: helping survivors of sexual abuse. We teamed up with Lauren’s Kids to increase awareness, including organizing Animal Therapy teams across the state to participate in the Walk In My Shoes 2014.
